Geology 101includes the study of the beginning of the universe and our solar system, minerals and their uses, igneous rocks and volcanic processes, and the development of the theory of Plate Tectonics. This sets the stage for the study of Geological Science and gives the student the background to understand the natural sciences that we see every day.
Geology 102 continues the studies in geology during winter term. This term covers the surface processes that are inherent in sedimentary and metamorphic rock development. We study the process of weathering and erosion, stream dynamics, and glacial development.
Geology 103 continues the study of geology by looking at the Evolutionary History of Earth and the geologic history of Oregon.
Chemistry 104 is an introductory chemistry class that explores the basics of the atom and chemical interactions.
