What can iWeb offer you?
All staff and faculty have space available for web pages on the Instructional Media "W Drive". Web pages stored in this space can be accessed by anyone with internet access, including students. The W Drive is a valuable resource for displaying your syllabus/outline, contact information, grades and any other information for your course.
Use the instructor search page to locate your current web page. Search by last name to find your current contact information.
Posting on Server:
Remember that the web server allows the flexibility to either use the Instructional Web template or by-pass it with a simple file extension. We encourage instructors to allow the template to be applied to most of your web pages. There are times when instructors don’t want to use the automatic template for documents such as handouts or grades saved as a Web Page from Excel.
File Extensions:
Saving a file with an extension of ‘.htm’ tells the server to apply the template.
Remember to remove all the <html></html>, <head></head>, and <body></body> tags as the template has those tags built in.
Saving a file with ‘.html’ will tell the sever to not apply the template and the document will need to have the <html></html>, <head></head>, and <body></body> tags.
.cfm Files
Please leave the files with ‘.cfm’ alone as they tell the server who you are and what department you work in as well as which template to use.
