Mission Statement:
Electronics Technology: Web-enabled Coursework The Redwood Campus lab is located in Y-3 and is open all day on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (other lab times can be made available depending on the term). The Table Rock Campus lab in Room 174 is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, the TRC lab is open until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The idea behind the Web-enabled delivery is that you can attend and be successful based around your schedule. Please contact Dave McKeen at (541) 245-7844 if you have questions or want more information about the program. Electronics is an exciting field that is experiencing amazing growth. Many of the employers in the Rogue Valley are looking for technicians with either a one-year certificate, or a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree. Currently, there are two certificates that students can complete in the electronics field. The existing certificate is an Electronics Technicians certificate program that gives students general skills and knowledge in the field for an entry-level position. In addition, it can be applied to the two year degree, which is highly recommended for advancement. There is a new certificate that started this fall call PC Microprocessor Systems Technician that gives students skills and knowledge related to computers, microprocessors, and micro-controllers. Students will take classes in both hardware and software. The certificate can be applied in both Electronics and Computer Science degree programs. Our staff works closely with local employers, and we focus on training that is in demand. To find out what classes are required for an Electronics Technician or PC Microprocessor Systems Technician one-year certificate or the Electronics Technology two-year degree, please see the course description.
