Mission Statement

The Art Department is committed to offering a meaningful curriculum for students with a diversity of needs. Our course work acknowledges historical and contemporary ideas, encouraging students to develop a personal visual language for communication in today's world. The art program offers experience for the student pursuing transfer status, art careers and/or personal enrichment. Instruction in art techniques and processes engage the student in creative thinking, self-expression and critical evaluation. In addition, the Art Department collaborates with other RCC departments and community resources to provide expanded educational opportunities.
