Reserve Room
Campus libraries provide a Reserve Room for instructors' materials. The Reserve Room contains a collection of textbooks and other materials placed in the library by the instructors for the use of their students. All telecourse materials are available from the Reserve Room.
Instructor will determine the conditions for the loan. The loan period is typically two hours, but other time allotments may be designated. Telecourse materials are limited to in library use only.
Late returns incur fines. The charge varies with the type of loan. Be sure to ask when the item is due. You are responsible for the item until it is returned.
The Reserve Room is open during
the library
hours.

Can I search the library catalog from home?
Yes, the library catalog lists books, videos, audio cassettes, compact discs and other materials. The catalog can be accessed from any computer on campus, as well as from your home or office. Materials from any of the member libraries can be requested and delivered to the library location you select. Follow this link to the Library Catalog.
What if I need an Interlibrary loan?
Interlibrary loan (ILL) enables RCC students, faculty, and staff to obtain materials that are not available in local libraries. Community library users are not eligible for this service, but should contact their public library.
The lending library determines whether a particular item can be provided, and the length of time it is on loan.
How long will it take?
The time it takes to receive requested material generally depends
upon the location of the lending library. Materials borrowed from
Pacific Northwest libraries can be expected within five days to
two weeks. Items from libraries in other parts of the country may
take three or four weeks.
How long may I keep the library's materials?
Generally materials are checked out for two weeks. Renewals are
sometimes possible if requested prior to due date.
How do I submit a request?
First, check the local library catalog. Next, check the SOU library
catalog to see if the material is available there. If the item
is not found, then use First Search for access to WorldCat and
several other databases.
